A virtuoso draughtsman, Victor Soren practices a sort of pencil grisaille in order to achieve a «photo-graphism» which elicits admiration and fear, like all things that approach perfection. The incongruous associations in the scenes that he draws exude eeriness: pretty girls with wooden legs, stuffed animals that are still alive… living beings get trapped inside of amber drops which can’t protect their captives from a slow, eternal degradation that not even death can put an end to….
