Pétra Werlé sculpts or, more precisely, she twists the inside of bread. She fashions small, elegant creatures, with eyes that are at times ironical and at times amazed, never too far from a reality that is either comic or very dark indeed. “I am inspired by humans, and as long as I keep seeing all these faces, I’ll have plenty of bread to chew. The bread sets me free”, explains Petra. “Life is unbearable. I try to keep it light and good-humoured”.
